LG Optimus 2X the first dual core Android smartphone

LG Electronics released the first dual-core smartphone LG Optimus 2X packed with Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and the company claims "result in faster Web browsing and applications and lets users multitask with less screen lag"

Before heading the notes about the Android-powered phone here is the release note:-

  • No words about U.S. release date

  • Sale in Korea from next month

  • with Europe and Asia - to follow

  • North America - still up in the air

And coming back to the Features Optimux 2X comes

  • 1Ghz Dual-core Processor (zippier performance) NVIDIA Tegra 2 "system-on-a-chip"

  • 4-inch WVGA screen (alike size of Samsung's "Galaxy S" Android phones)

  • 8GB memory (up to 32GB via microSD)

  • 1,500 mAh battery

  • 8 megapixel two cameras:

  • 1.3 megapixel front camera (video chat)

  • 8MP snapper in back (1080p-quality video playback and capture)

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Optimus 2X will be able to handle 1080p video playback along with HDMI Mirroring; (users can transmit 1080p video to an external monitor via the phone's HDMI output while following along on the handset's display.

Other features includes:
A built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, as well as DLNA (short for Digital Living Network Alliance) media sharing with compatible PCs, TVs and other devices on your home network.

LG Optimus 2X comes with Android 2.2 "Froyo," and LG promises an update to Android 2.3 "in due course." the next best thing to "Gingerbread," - the latest and greatest version of Android (Nexus S is the only Gingerbread Android phone)
